About 2008, 2010, somewhere in there, I messed with circuit bending on one of these but with alligator clips only flipped over just like you have. I just bought a Yamaha PSS-130. It has a way smaller board and I'm actually going to bend the sucker... first thing I'm going to add to it is the audio jack. Even though I'm doing it on a different keyboard, this video has been very helpful so thank you. With technique basically.

I didn’t realize how diverse his pickup setup was. It’s a pretty unique variation on the telecaster signature twang. I might have to try this out! Really helpful video.

Hey! Same unit etc. Mine plays, records just fine. No discernible ~warbles~ however, re-winding/fast forwarding stops frequently. Or slows down continuously until it stops. I’ve taken to popping my tape out manually rewinding and throwing the tape back in. Anybody know if this would be fixed with a belt replacement? The only reason why I haven’t started this to begin with is because the play/record function works so well.

Thanks for the tutorial! Finished this today with a crappy soldering iron (not recommended) and a 500K Ohm potentiometer. It’s not a linear potentiometer like advised, but I’m able to go faster and slower, allowing a ‘normal’ speed. The pitch/speed doesn’t change much in the middle of the potentiometer. Only when you go to the edges.

That DeoxIT worked way better than it had any right to, thank you for this video. Bought a unit that had _insane_ crackles on the headphone volume pot and this procedure cleared it right up. Stay rad. Question, in case you're reading these. When I make a recording of a metronome (say 112bpm) it plays back faster, maybe 113-115 bpm. Any experience with this? It's making keeping different tracks/layers in sync challenging.

In the middle of replacing PMD 101 belts. The kit is £40 for the belts all the way from Canada … thats a lot for some rubber bands
